Well executed, but....

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 4 May 2006 06:20 (A review of Sex and the City - The Complete Series (Collector's Giftset))

This series has destroyed the minds of women, young and old, everywhere. I'd ask people who have watched this series, what kind of sick existence do these "sex and the city" women really strive for? Some of the most extreme portrayals of selfishness, vanity and materialism I have ever seen. It's almost made worse by the fact that the episodes usually try to convey some type of positive message or moral, which is so overshadowed by the madness of the story...it's like, why even bother?

On the other side of the coin, the episodes are usually entertaining and sometimes amusing. And I *suppose* there is some kind of, sort of, weak "make a better person of yourself" message in there...somewhere....

Boring

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 4 May 2006 05:44 (A review of Bottle Rocket )

This movie left me terribly bored. I could see the attempts at comedy...but to me, it all fell flat on it's face. I recognize this is some of the Owen's early work and from a historical perspective, it's interesting. But funny, not really.

Good, but not the best Radiohead

Posted : 17 years, 11 months ago on 4 May 2006 05:43 (A review of OK Computer)

With the exception of Paranoid Android (perhaps the best Radiohead song ever written), this album didn't do much for me. Mellow, easy to listen to...but not really inspiring. Good background music, but not much more.
